A blog!

So I've tried to blog many times in the past, and it hasn't been able to hold my attention for more than a few days. As of late, I am an insomniac. Why? I work rotating day and night shifts and I'm pregnant. I know sleep disturbance is somewhat frequent in preggos, but I believe mine is compounded due to my crappy work schedule. For the most part, this month, I work overnight shifts. 7:00pm until 7:00am the next day. I do just fine on my shifts, don't get too tired, but am physically unable to convert back to "normal" on my days off. For example, I slept a few hours during the day today (because I slept 10p-4a the night before), went to bed at 11p lastnight, 3am, WIDE AWAKE! So I guess this blogging may keep me occupied during my sleepless early mornings.

Yes, I'm pregnant! 21 weeks and 3 days to be exact. I feel I don't do pregnancy very well, I has pretty bad nausea until about 14 weeks (Zofran and I were BFFs...), I've had the shingles (on my forehead... sweet!) at around 16 weeks, and right now I'm still riding out an upper respiratory cold thats going on week 3.... All complaining of physical ailments aside, we found out about 2 weeks ago we are having a girl! So excited! My husband, Joey, is now very outnumbered by ladies in the house (myself, baby girl, and 2 female dogs). I'm lucky to have an OB as a father (and no weirdo, he's' not delivering the baby.. and no he's not my doctor...) who has been mercilessly available with all my over worrying questions.

It's 10 till 5 in the morning, Joey will wake up soon to go to work so I'm looking forward to that so I can turn the TV on! Right now, I'm laying in bed, Callie (our Yorkie) is snuggling under the covers next to me, and Lucy (our English bulldog) is snoring at the bottom of the bed by Joey. I'm craving orange soda. There's some in the fridge upstairs and I will be indulging in that as soon as the TV goes on.
